Paul's epistle to the Ephesians.
Ephesians 5 is, over the course of it 33 verses, a list of behaviours: good and bad. Some of the bad behaviours are within reasonable reach of obedience (no fornication, or filthiness, or being a whoremonger, no idolatry and no drunkenness) while other behaviours are not within reasonable reach of obedience (no foolish talking, no jesting, no covetousness, and submitting to one another in the fear of the God).
Then there are matters concerning the marriage relationship that Paul gives instruction. Paul instructs that wives are to be subject to their husbands in every thing and to reverence him.
Paul instructs husbands to love their wives as they love their own bodies and to the sames extent that Christ loved the church and gave himself for it.
How does this instruction work for those of us today, partakers of the benefit?
